Sometimes at work, I need something simple and crisp. Because I am the color-lover I am, it always has to be rich with some kind of hue. But some work situations require an outfit that is a tad more … subdued. And,this is my idea of subdued. Ha! This summer workwear outfit is plenty full of color, with a most flattering pump and matching handbag. This is what I’d wear if I was travelling to Miami or doing an old summer day in the office.
Melon A-line Dress
This A-line dress is made of stretch wool. What does that ultimately mean? Well, it means that it’s going to be pretty comfortable and flexible in all the areas you need it to be, but fitted in all the areas you want. I absolutely love a stretch wool dress because it carries the professionalism of great workwear, but it has a little more comfort (in my opinion) than cotton or polyester. Besides the fabric, this color is so exciting and will pair well with most blazer colors for a fun, summer work outfit.
This white blazer is crisp and clean and well-fitted – a great addition for summer workwear. It’s not going to be made of ultra high-end material, but if just worn as an accent piece with dresses, it doesn’t matter. This one just has to be comfortable enough and crisp enough to compliment the dress.
When pairing colors together, melon and white, melon and navy, white and navy all pair well. They compliment one another in almost a nautical theme that works well for a work outfit, a party outfit, church or any other more dressy occasion you may have. These pumps are kitten heels, which means they’ll be comfortable to wear at the office and work well for tall women.
Navy Tote Bag
Again, a designer tote bag from Calvin Klein – this bag completes the look. Another great alternative could be to wear a floral bag. I’d stay away from brown leather or even black leather, so as to match the shoes. But a nice floral bag or this bad complete the outfit and make it look ultra-sheek.
